NorthumberlandView.ca’s Big Hairy Challenge Continues
Here’s a media release that I sent out a couple of days ago…
Chris Pelletier, the owner and operator of NorthumberlandView.ca has offered up his body for charity. NorthumberlandView.ca has launched “The Big Hairy Challenge” to benefit four local charities.
Until June 1st, Pelletier will be raising money for Hospice Northumberland Lakeshore, the Northumberland Humane Society, Northumberland Services for Women and the Fare Share Food Bank in four separate fundraisers. Each fundraiser will attempt to raise at least $1,000 for each charity. If successful, Pelletier will have the following done:
If $1,000 is raised for Hospice, Pelletier will have his head shaved to the skin, including shaving cream and razor.
If $1,000 is raised for the Northumberland Humane Society, Pelletier will have his chest waxed.
If $1,000 is raised for Northumberland Services for Women, Pelletier will have his legs sugared at “Walk A Mile In Her Shoes” on June 12th. Sugaring is a process similar to waxing that, hopefully, is less painful.
If $500 is raised for the Fare Share Food Bank, Pelletier will have one of his nipples pierced, if $1,000 is raised, he will have both done.
Donations are being handled by CanadaHelps.org. Tax reciepts will be issued once payments are received.
The culmination of each fundraiser will take place at events for the charities.

I haven’t heard from the other local media yet to do any interviews about the Challenge, or my mental state but it is still early. The Challenge ends June 1st so there is still a month. I did get a chance to talk about the Challenge on the most recent edition of Municipal Matters on Cogeco Cable 10. It was suggested that if I double all of my goals, that I could do everything on the same day. Somehow, I don’t think that it’s going to happen. I think I’ll need a couple of days to heal in between having my chest waxed and my nipple(s) pierced.
The response has been pretty good so far. The donations are coming in slowly but I know that most people are going to wait until the last minute.
